Compliance Lawyer

Support Zettabyte's legal, compliance, and intellectual property needs across patents, technology licensing, and cross-border matters as the company scales.

What You'll Do

  • Advise on legal, regulatory, and compliance matters across the business, with a focus on technology, software, hardware, AI infrastructure, data centers, and intellectual property.
  • Support patent strategy, invention harvesting, patent filings, and related documentation, including filings in the United States.
  • Work closely with engineering, product, and leadership teams to identify, protect, and commercialize intellectual property relating to software, AI infrastructure, GPU systems, liquid-cooling technology, networking, and data center operations.
  • Review, draft, and negotiate commercial agreements, technology agreements, software licensing agreements, vendor contracts, NDAs, procurement agreements, customer contracts, and strategic partnership documents.
  • Support compliance matters relating to cross-border technology deployment, data center projects, enterprise customers, sovereign customers, and international operations.
  • Coordinate with external counsel in Singapore, the United States, and other jurisdictions.
  • Provide practical, business-oriented legal advice to management and cross-functional teams in a fast-moving startup environment.
  • Support corporate governance, internal policies, risk management, and legal operations.

  • Are a qualified lawyer in Singapore, the United States, or another relevant common law jurisdiction.
  • Have strong experience in intellectual property, patents, technology transactions, and commercial legal work.
  • Have strong drafting, analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Are able to work independently and provide practical advice in a high-growth startup environment.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with US patent filings or US IP processes.
  • Background in a leading law firm or strong in-house technology legal role.
  • Experience with software, AI, GPU infrastructure, data centers, semiconductor, networking, hardware, or deep technology businesses.
  • Prior experience at or with top-tier law firms such as Allen & Gledhill, international firms, or equivalent firms.
